Marcus will be performing selections from his latest cabaret shows, along with a number of holiday favorites in a special benefit for the Staten Island Wellness Project. Celebrated musical director D. Jay Bradley will provide piano accompaniment, along with Marco Brehm on bass and guest vocalist Eva Ladas. The Wellness Project is a community-based health program of the Staten Island AIDS Task Force. The Muddy Cup theatre is located in the popular coffee house's back room which features a 75-seat theatre with stage, lighting, and sound system. The room has been described as looking like a playhouse right out of Greenwich Village, sporting distressed brick walls, wood floors and beams, skylights, and comfortable seating. One final performance has been added for Marcus Simeone and his acclaimed show, "Daydreams." Writing about the show in Back Stage on November 23, David Finkle said, "Marcus Simeone has a voice that would make Circe throw in the towel ... like a cello being slowly bowed... Olympian voice."
After making his acclaimed cabaret debut earlier last year with extended runs at Don't Tell Mama and with his new show, Daydreams at Danny's in November, pop-jazz singer Marcus Simeone returns with one final performances on Sunday, February 24th at 4:00 pm at Danny's Skylight Room, 346 West 46th Street (NY's Restaurant Row). There will be a $15 music charge and a $10 food or drink minimum.
